I grew up on the panhandle of Florida, between Panama City Beach and Pensacola, in an area know by such colorful monikers as “Hurricane Alley” and “Redneck Rivera” or when wishing to entice tourist, “The Emerald Coast.” With powder white beaches and turquoise water, it is a beautiful area, if you like the beach.

I don’t like the beach. I love the desert of New Mexico, the jungles of Belize, the swamps of Louisiana, and even the urban canyons of Manhattan. In short, I travel, and my friends have said that I’d gladly go to Hell, if someone told me they had good museums.
